Case in Point K of C FCU Unveils a Whole New Image as Viriva Community Credit Union
In August, 2006, K of C FCU came to CU ink, looking for a whole new look. They were preparing to undergo a name and charter change, and needed a logo and print presence that would inspire members to look to the credit union for guidance and direction.
Director of Marketing Services, Celeste Nadeau, recently had a chance to sit down with Viriva’s Marketing Manager to discuss the project and its outcome.
[Celeste Nadeau] How was it to work with CU ink on the logo and print brand? What were some of the pieces that you were happiest with?
[Jen Esposito] It was a great experience working with the staff at CU ink to design the new “Viriva” brand. They competed against two other vendors for the chance to design our new logo and won based on their ability to define our vision in print. CU ink also provided support documentation to our Board of Directors about what makes a good logo and what we should look for when choosing a design. This was the first of many ways that the CU ink staff helped our Marketing Department. By providing extensive research materials, at no additional cost, they allowed us the ability to focus our attention on our daily duties.
Although we were pleased with all of the print materials designed by CU ink, I have to say that my favorite items were the coordinating lobby posters, flyers and teller envelopes. We selected several different product themes for each medium, and we plan to rotate them throughout the year. This helps keep a consistent message in front of our members while enhancing our brand. Our staff couldn’t be more pleased with the Brand Apparel and Name Tags that CU ink helped us select, purchase and embroider.
C: How did the staff and membership take to the new look?
J: The staff loves our new look! They see the value in creating a consistent image. Several employees have commented about how CU ink has really been a great partner to work with and how the new materials make our credit union seem so much more professional. We received positive responses from the membership during initial logo testing and positive feedback after redesigning some of our branches with the new lobby materials.
C: Could you talk a little about the difference in your marketing and forms collateral now, compared to how it was before the makeover?
J: We now have a consistent image. We are now able to plan in advance for statement inserts by taking advantage of bulk printing and storage. CU ink provides us with the images we need to update our in-branch TVs and web site with the same look and feel as the print images.
